Julian is the CEO of Parhelion Underwriting Ltd, a specialist insurance and risk finance business focused exclusively on carbon markets, climate change risk and alternative energy finance. Parhelion is the recognised leader in developing innovative insurance solutions to support the deployment of capital in to the climate finance sector. Previously Julian was Senior Underwriting Risk Manager for the Global Markets business of GE Insurance Solutions. Julian also spent 11 years as a broker and risk consultant at Marsh McLennan Companies advising on and transacting risk transfer structures for major international integrated oil and gas and other industrial companies. Julian has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management where his focus was on finance and environmental economics and his thesis, completed in 2001 was on ‘Carbon Trading Risk’.
